We are not solicitors, we are Mckenzie Friends. We are skilled legal practitioners who have expert knowledge in Family Law Proceedings. We have years of experience in assisting others in Family Law Proceedings. Mckenzie Friends are allowed to assist their clients cases however, are not allowed to talk on behalf of their clients in court unless the judge gives permission. Can you speak in court for me?

There are times where we may be given permission from a judge to speak on the behalf of you, this is called ‘Rights of Audience’. Being given permission to speak is very rare and depends on the circumstances surrounding your case.

Can you attend court with me?

Yes we attend court hearings both in person and remotely. When we attend court hearings we endeavour to have conferences with you beforehand where we can assist and advise you on your case in a thorough manner. Instead, our fees are based on the specific stage of your case — for example: We’ll give you a clear written quote before we start, and there are no hidden extras. Any additional costs (for example, court application fees or expert reports) will be explained in advance.
